DATEHACK.TXT: D A T E H A C K E R v 1.2 ======================= CopyRighted, 1996 by F. Moens 1. What does it do / What is it for? --------------------------------- Date Hacker (c) allows you to switch easily and quick between the 'real' ; date and a fake date. This allows you to avoid messages like 'register in 30 days', etc.. 2. Installation ------------ Just copy all the files to a directory like c:\datehack.. It needs VB40032.DLL to run, where to get it? See troubleshooting.. 3. How does it work? ----------------- a) Manual --------- Just run DateHack, select your fake date from the combobox or type the date in the textbox, press on 'Set Date'. To restore the data (= set the correct date). Press on 'Restore Date'. b) Macro -------- Syntax : DateHack (<FakeDate>) <Program To Run After> FakeDate : The date to FAKE! If you don't mention a date, DateHack will use the default date. Program : The Program to run. After the program ran, DateHack will restore the Date and quit. Attention : If you use directories/filename with a space in it, put in in braces 'xxx & #120;xx' or "xxx xxx" Example: - DateHack 01/01/85 d:\htdogpro\hotdog.e 20;e => Set date to 01/01/85, run hotdog. exe, restore date, exit program. - DateHack 10/01/92 'd:\program fil es\blabla\program.exe' => Set date to 10/01/92, run pro gram.exe, restore, exit - DateHack PROGRAM.EXE => Set date to default date, run program.exe, r estore, exit c) Drag & Drop -------------- Just drag & drop a file on DateHack.exe (with File Manager for examp le), DateHack will set the date to the default, fake date, it will run the dropped program, restore the date, and exit DateHack. 4. Disclaimer ---------- Shareware programs are one of the best things in the world of the PC, (just think at DOOM ;) ). Don't ruin it for the authors not to register, because they WILL stop if you do. This program is NOT meant to sabotage shareware authors, it's to help them. When someone didn't make up his mind in 15 days, he gets a little time e xtra. This is just a suggestion, you could use the program in other ways, personally, I don't use DateHack, nobody forces you to use it. SO KEEP SHAREWARE ALIFE! REGISTER! If you have problems with this program, just delete it from your HD, and pretent you've never seen it in your entire life. 5. Troubleshooting --------------- Q: I don't have VB40032.DLL ! A: You could go to ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/win95/dll/vb400 32.zip UNZIP vb40032.zip in your windows\system directory Q: I get an error : 'Wrong version of run-time DLL' A: You got an old VB40032.DLL, again, once again go to: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/win95/dll/vb40032.zip UNZIP vb40032.zip in yout windows\system directory 6.
